Public display of disturbance.

I have been really thinking whether to write this post or not finally I have the guts to dare. Lucky for me I am among the few who did not get stung by the cupid bee. I am perfectly sane. If you don’t own a calendar am sure by now you have gotten the memo that Valentine’s Day is around the corner literally, actually it’s everywhere.

I don’t want to sound like a broken hearted person or a hater but come on give me a break. It is so annoying when am trying to rush to class and I have to bare with a couple that are busy holding hands in front of me . Sometimes people get caught in the moment they even start making out in public like in a mat and there are old people there makes me shake my head (SMH!!!).

After doing my own careful analysis I could not be proud of coming from Rongai like I am now. You can barely see a trace of red people here are so busy trying to make some dough they have no time for cuddles. It reminds me of this line often used by musicians “ if it aint about the money I don’t want to hear about it ” that is my new status by the way.

A friend once told me that love should not be expressed only when there is date to remember. Buying chocolate and flowers for the one you love should be a continuous thing not a valentine’s thing. I say that there is no good in public display of affection it actually disturbance. If you could practice expressing love often you would not be so overwhelmed on valentines. In fact for my valentines I would like to go to a children’s home or do something to give back to the community now that is celebrating love as saint Valentine would have wanted it to be done.

Signing out with lots of love,
Elsie Onyango
